TAFE (Technical & Further Education)


TAFE SA is South Australia’s largest provider of vocational education and training and has a number of institutes that are located all around the state. TAFE offers Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma level programs. You can apply for a TAFE course either through SATAC or by applying directly to the relevant campus depending on what course you are applying for.

Other Training Providers

Other training providers and private colleges offer a wide variety of courses and options. If you are interested in finding out what’s available, ask your careers counsellor, go to The Good Universities Guide or visit The National Training Information Service website. It is important to check to see that the place you’re planning to study at is accredited.
The South Australia Works Strategy is based around building up a skilled labour force in the State. Various Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) will advertise courses in the local newspapers. The Commonwealth Government is also funding training in Pre-Vocational courses and Australian School-based Apprenticeships in the trades area.

Tauondi College is an independent organisation managed by Aboriginal people based in Adelaide. They offer a range of National Training package qualifications, accredited courses and Adult Community Education activities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
